WHAT IS GENEALOGY?
My dictionary says it is the study of family lineage, but those of us who have delved into it can tell you that it is much more than that dictionary definition! My dictionary also says that since the 18th century it has developed into subsidiary disciplines and list amongst them - history. Family History is far more interesting than Genealogy. It is here that we place people in their time period and find out how they lived, putting the 'meat on the bones' so to speak.
